Gumbo, Grits, and Hushpuppies

Do y’all ever form an entire recipe around ingredients in your kitchen that you need to eat before they go bad?  I do this a lot, and this recipe is no exception.  I had a lot of corn and almond meal to get through, so I decided to make Cajun classic with grits and hushpuppies… Continue reading Gumbo, Grits, and Hushpuppies

Tomato Soup

The Burrito Bowl

Ever since the advent of Chipotle, I think everyone has their own version of this bowl, so here is my take.  All of these ingredients are basic, so feel free to spice up your own bowl or replace any ingredients based on preference, as with every recipe on this blog.  The star of this show… Continue reading The Burrito Bowl

Maple Mustard Tahini Dressing

This was one of the first dressings I experimented with and ended up loving!  I took inspiration from the “No Tuna” Salad Sandwich recipe on forksoverknives.com and went from there.  In addition to chickpeas, I enjoy this dressing with baked sweet potato, with bean burger patties (seen below), on salads, or in sandwiches as the original recipe… Continue reading Maple Mustard Tahini Dressing
