Food Album: August 15-21, 2021

This week was my first time commuting to work for the entire year!  I am excited to get back to school, even though it means more prep cooking and less hot meals from my kitchen.  I am ready for in-person interactions again!

I also made lamb stuffed peppers, which were good.  I realized I am not a huge fan of lamb, but I used the leftovers to make a meat sauce that was delicious!  The sauce reminded me of a lot of recipes my father made when I was young because most dishes started with a base of sauteed onion, garlic, and ground beef.  This was economical, delicious, and how my father learned to cook from his parents in Iowa.  I plan on looking more into these recipes from my childhood to connect my cooking style now to the food of my family.

Other than this culinary discovery, I had some food at restaurants and recipes that I use regularly.  I was a wonderful week of old and new culinary traditions.
