I am pretty sure pasta, meat, and cheese form the ultimate comfort food combination. Therefore, I decided to provide all these elements in the timeless recipe of spaghetti and meatballs. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1-2 slices bread, stale and cubed, found here
- ½ cup milk (I used oat milk)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup onion, minced
- 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 Tbsp. basil, dried
- ½ Tbsp. oregano, dried
- 1 Tbsp. parsley, dried
- Salt and pepper to taste
Spaghetti
- 1 package dried spaghetti
- Marinara sauce, found here
- Parmesan cheese, grated (garnish)
- Basil, sliced (garnish)
Method
Meatballs
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- In a food processor, pulse the bread cubes into crumbs
- In a small bowl, soak the bread crumbs in the milk
- In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients
- Mix with hands until homogeneous
- Form into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet
- Bake for 15 minutes
Spaghetti and Meatballs
- Boil spaghetti according to package instructions
- In a large pan, heat marinara sauce over low heat
- Strain spaghetti and add to marinara sauce
- Add meatballs to spaghetti and mix until everything is covered in sauce
- Garnish with parmesan cheese and basil
- Serve and enjoy
