Hummus

As a vegan, I learned how to make hummus early on.  I consider it a health food staple.  This recipe is oil-free, but feel free to add olive oil if you so desire.  You do you.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas, cooked (save cooking water)
  • 2-4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp. coriander
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender
  2. Blend until creamy consistency is reached
  3. Add chickpea cooking water if needed to blend easier
  4. Serve with vegetables, in salad, on sandwiches, or with flatbread, recipe here
  5. Enjoy!
