Spring is here! The flowers are blooming, the butterflies are pollinating, and my blender is making smoothies. It’s the nature of things. Anyway, I can’t believe I haven’t tried this combo yet and shared it! It’s absolutely incredible. If you’re looking for antioxidants for breakfast (or dessert), this is the bowl for you! Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 3-4 frozen bananas
- ¼ cup cacao powder
- ¼ – ½ cup water
- 1-2 Tbsp. almond butter
- ¼ cup buckwheat groats (optional)
- 1 fresh banana, sliced
- 1-2 tsp. almonds (optional)
- Extra blueberries for garnish
Method
- Place the frozen blueberries, bananas, cacao powder, and water into a blender
- Blend until creamy (help the blender out by thawing the frozen fruit for about 15 minutes before blending)
- Scoop smoothie into a bowl
- Top with almond butter, buckwheat, banana, almonds, and blueberries
- Enjoy!
