Green Split Pea Soup

This soup is definitely a go-to in the week if I need to clean out my vegetable drawer or I have limited time to prepare my dinner.  It’s simple, delicious, and nutrient packed.  The peas make the soup incredibly thick and hearty.  Let me know what y’all think!


  • 2 cups split green peas, rinsed
  • 1 cup small lima beans, soaked
  • 2-4 carrots, chopped
  • 3-5 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1L veggie broth
  • Green onion, chopped for garnish


  1. Add all ingredients into the Instant Pot (except green onion)
  2. Add enough water to cover the ingredients
  3. Close and seal the Instant Pot
  4. Press “Manual” and set the time to 15 minutes
  5. After the timer goes off, let the pot depressurize for 10-15 minutes
  6. Open the seal to “Venting”
  7. Serve with baked sweet potatoes, toast, or any other carbs you prefer
  8. Enjoy!
